My name is Nick DeMuth and I welcome you to the home of Hookjaw Charters and Fishing Guide Service. I hold a United States Coast Guard Masters License, a New York State Guides License (#4020), a Pennsylvania Fishing Guides License, and am fully insured. Hookjaw Charters began as a fishing charter service in the Finger Lakes region, as well as a Guided Fly Fishing Service on the Upper Delaware River Watershed. My passion for fly fishing has led me to focus exclusively on providing custom drift boat fly fishing trips on the Main and West Branch of the Delaware River.

NOTE: AS OF SPRING 2017 I WILL NO LONGER BE OFFERING CHARTER FISHING TRIPS IN THE FINGER LAKES REGION.

Feel free to contact me with questions. contact me at: www.capthookjaw@gmail.com. Or call (607)857-8314.

THE FISHING
Booking a drift fishing trip on the West Branch of the Delaware River my be the trip of a lifetime! The Upper Delaware River system is one of the East Coasts Premier Blue Ribbon Trout Waters. The Upper Delaware River is comprised of three independent rivers, the West Branch, the East Branch, and the Main River. The trout in the Upper Delaware River are all wild fish. It has been said many times that the Upper Delaware River provides some of the best dry fly fishing in the world. Your drift fishing trip on the West Branch of the Delaware River will begin by meeting in Hancock, N.Y. From there we will select one of the many launch sites to begin our adventure. During your trip you will be comfortably riding in a ClackaCraft Drift Boat. Breathable waders (NO CLEATS ON BOOTS) are recommended, as there are several locations from which you may wish to stretch your legs and enjoy some of the finest wade fishing in the East.
I maintain a collection of Sage, and Orvis fly rods. You may elect to use one of these rods, or bring your own along. I recommend a 9′ 5 weight fast action fly rod. I also carry a wide selection of hand tied flies, custom created to match the hatches of the West Branch.

Rates:
Afternoon “Catch the Hatch” Drift Boat Trip – $350 (Fishing equipment and fly selection no extra cost)
Prices are for 1-2 fisherman. Payments are accepted by Pay Pal with any major credit card if paid 48 hours prior to trip, or by check mailed in advance. PAYMENTS ON DAY OF CHARTER ARE CASH ONLY PLEASE.

What to Bring:
Weather on the Upper Delaware system can change from day to day. Always keep in mind that during many months of the year the temperature on the water will often be cooler than forecast. Be certain to check the weather before your trip and dress accordingly. I have found that the following items can make your day on the water a more enjoyable one:
• NEW YORK STATE FISHING LICENSE MANDATORY (if over age 16)
• Breathable Waders ( NO CLEATS ON BOOTS)
• Hat
• Sunscreen
• Sunglasses
• Small cooler with cold drinks
• Snacks and packed lunch
• Warm clothing
• Rain gear
• Camera
• Fly rods and fly selection optional
