1/28-1/29/2012 - Winter fishing is in full swing. Fished Saturday and Sunday mornings with good success. With the typical winter weather front changes we had to work for our fish, but it was well worth it! I had a crew from the Pittsburgh, PA area on Sunday. They did a great job on the rods. Between Saturday and Sunday we were able to put Rainbows, Browns, Lakers, and Landlocked Salmon in the boat. Fish seemed to be congregated on the east side of the lake along Painted Rock. Fish were caught from 20'-130'. Lakers were taken on Spin Doctor and Fly combos. All other fish came on a variety of different colored spoons with no pattern working better than another. Lead core out 3 and 5 color, and copper rods out 150 -200' all caught fish. With a mild winter weather forecast it appears as though fishing will remain steady, and continue to improve. Remember that New York State Law requires ALL passengers on vessels 21' and smaller to be wearing life vests while on the water during winter months. Be safe and have fun out there.
